Strange Beliefs


It's not widely known, but there are a small number of churches that use handling snakes as part of their religious services.  Several states, including Alabama, have laws against the use of snakes in houses of worship.

    I think it was PBS that did a show on snake handlers. The pastor had been bitten so many times that he had developed an immunity to snake venom.

    They have some of those crazies in Tennessee also.

    This is what happens when you cherry-pick your beliefs from a book you believe to be sacred ... at least, the parts you choose to believe are sacred.
